The river moves slowly, sluggish from winter. Like a secret, whispered out of time for a while, the mountain is gone today. The fog rests just above the houses like a soft woolen blanket. It feels as if the town has taken a deep breath and forgotten to exhale.
Watercolour, 84 × 52 cm.

“Great Boathouse” – depicts one of Mosjøen’s most cherished cultural landmarks, standing at the foot of Mount Øyfjellet in the town’s historic quarter. For generations, the great boathouse has served many purposes and remains a living symbol of local heritage.
In this original watercolour the building catches a fleeting ray of sunlight while heavy clouds gather above, a familiar northern contrast between light and shadow. The thick pigments and rich colours emphasize the aged wooden façade.
Watercolour on paper, 76 × 56 cm.
Framed size 92 × 75 cm.
Created by Stig-Ove Sivertsen, 2025.

The river glides silently through the November twilight, still free of ice – though winter is closing in. In the distance, "Brurskanken" glows like a beacon in the final light of day before the darkness slowly takes hold. Soon, snow will drape the landscape and the path alike.

Atmospheric watercolor of a lone white bench among weathered boathouses in a historic old town. As the weather shifts, this piece explores the quiet moments before change. An original artwork capturing the nostalgia and light of coastal small town life.

“The Fog Lies Thick and Windless” captures a moment of stillness where light and mist coexist above the old rooftops of a northern town. Transparent layers of watercolour describe the light as it energetically tries to break through the dense, almost opaque fog resting close over the houses.
In this original watercolour by Stig-Ove Sivertsen, atmosphere becomes both subject and symbol — a quiet reflection of the Nordic interplay between weather, light, and time.

“Still Bridge” portrays the bridge as a still life – a quiet symbol of connection between people and their stories. The calmness and low light invites the viewer to pause and consider the paths that link us together.
Which bridges have you crossed recently, both literal and metaphorical?
