Touch of Light – Stig-Ove Sivertsen, Watercolour
“Touch of Light” explores the dialogue between darkness and light — a recurring theme in his Norwegian landscapes. The transparent and unpredictable nature of watercolour reflects the ever-changing northern weather and shifting light.
Here, heavy pigments form a deep sky of texture and depth, created through the drying process. Yet, light from the paper fights its way through, a final glow accentuated by the silhouette of a solitary tree and the dark foreground meeting the pale horizon.
Watercolour on paper, 56 × 76 cm.

THE AIR TASTED AND SMELLED OF METAL Stig-Ove Sivertsen, Watercolour
“The Air Tasted and Smelled of Metal” is an original watercolour by Norwegian artist Stig-Ove Sivertsen.
The painting reveals an abstract landscape — no specific place, but a sense of atmosphere suspended between storm and calm. The light suggests that the sun might be breaking through the fog after heavy rain.
Sivertsen describes the air as tasting and smelling of metal — perhaps the warmth and humidity following a thunderstorm. Through the transparent nature of watercolour, he captures the tension between elements: moisture, light, and silence.
Watercolour on paper, 37 × 56 cm.

The Fog Lies Thick and Windless) – Stig-Ove Sivertsen, Watercolour
“The Fog Lies Thick and Windless” captures a moment of stillness where light and mist coexist above the old rooftops of a northern town. Transparent layers of watercolour describe the light as it energetically tries to break through the dense, almost opaque fog resting close over the houses.
In this original watercolour by Stig-Ove Sivertsen, atmosphere becomes both subject and symbol — a quiet reflection of the Nordic interplay between weather, light, and time.

The moon crawls slowly in front of the endlessness - the sea dove softly" - Stig-Ove Sivertsen, Watercolour
“The Moon Crawls Slowly in Front of the Endlessness – The Sea Dove Softly” is an original watercolour by Stig-Ove Sivertsen.
Not a concrete place, but a landscape of moods, presence, and elements — an abstract dialogue between light, darkness, and quiet motion.
Through rough contrasts and fragile flashes of light, the painting carries both melancholy and beauty. There are no people here, only the faint suggestion of a structure, perhaps a house, surrounded by the silence and power of nature’s own movements.
This contemporary Norwegian watercolour captures the poetic balance between the visible and the intangible, between solitude and vastness.
